Dualis Social Investment Fund is a nonprofit organization which achieves social impact in Israel through building and investing in for-profit social businesses similar to a venture capital fund. The focus of the Fund is on providing personal skills, vocational training, employment and job creation for “people on the margins” of society. The Fund seeks to build meaningful and purposeful lives for people with less opportunities.
Dualis’ investment approach combines traditional for-profit business such as social cafes, retail stores, and software services together with a social objective. Targeted participants in the social programs include drop-out youth/youth at risk, people with physical, mental or cognitive disabilities, ex-convicts and other underserved/unemployed parts of the community recognized by the Government agencies for welfare support.
In addition to the required capital, every social business has both a business plan and a social program plan and is accompanied by Dualis’ management team providing assistance in: strategic planning, financial management, marketing & business development, social program development and SROI measurement as well as support and reinforcement for the social business, through partnerships.
As a leader in this new and evolving space of Social Investment, Dualis strives to raise public awareness to impact investing, develop SROI measurement tools, work with government agencies to recognize and provide a regulatory path for the creation of a social investment market in Israel.
Dualis’ profits from investments in social businesses are re-invested to establish additional social businesses.
